Parents,
Students have a review worksheet to complete on division that is two-sided. They should continue to read each night and complete their reader response. If students have a little extra time, they can practice some more math on IXL.
Have a good night.

Update 2/2/2015
Parents,
The students will need to complete their reading log and math worksheet (8-3) on division. This is a new unit on long division where many students are learning the division process for the first time. Students are also welcome to work on their persuasive writing at home on google docs if they are able to.
Their stem words this week are: mater - Latin root for mother, qua - Latin root for water, gen - Latin root for birth or race, bio - Latin root for life, spec - Latin root for see or look.
Have a great week.

Update 1/29
Hi Parents and Families,
Happy Friday-eve :-)
For Language Arts, please make sure that students study for tomorrow's spelling test. If you don't have the word list, you can find it below on Monday's post. Also, please make sure your child brings in his/her weekly reading log. This is a weekly reading grade, and if students consistently forget to return it, their grade does suffer. Finally, we've been working hard on editing skills, and students will take an editing quiz tomorrow. If you'd like for your child to practice, there are many, many online editing games that can help.
In math, students took the Topic 7 test today, so there is no homework. They will begin with Topic 8, Dividing by 1-Digit Divisors, tomorrow. If you're able, please encourage your child to spend some time practicing math concepts on www.IXL.com.
Finally, don't forget that tonight is HES Night at our local Wendy's. Please consider supporting our wonderful PTO by stopping by. Don't forget to mention you're there to support Heroes.
Thanks so much for your support. Have a great evening!

Parents,
Students are responsible for completing a review math worksheet on multiplication with "special cases" which we went over on Friday.
I just want to remind you that the students do not have school this Friday due to a teacher workday as we will be completing second quarter report cards to be going home soon.
