Hi Parents!
Happy Monday! Tonight's homework is pages 137-142 in the textbook, problems 6, 10, 12, 14, and 18 only. These are review test problems meant to get students ready for a math test tomorrow. If your child is struggling with these problems, please feel free to help them work through them. You can find additional resources throughout Chapter 2 in the textbook and on your child's ThinkCentral account.
In ELA this week, students are working on creating a rough draft of their personal narrative. Additionally, for our weekly grammar skill, they will be working on correctly using quotation marks. We also started working with a new set of vocaublary words today. Students will work with these words all month and will be responsible for knowing how to spell them, use them in a sentence, and decompose them into prefixes, suffixes, and root words. The words for October are: expensive, governor, impression, independence, submarine, transportation, and unfinished.
Finally, we began a new science unit today that will last for the next 2 weeks. Students will be studying clouds and the water cycle and will learn about extreme weather and storms.
Have a wonderful week, and please let us know if you have any questions!
