Parents,
Students had a math test on chapter 1 that they started last Friday and finished today. We will be starting chapter 2 tomorrow. Their homework today is to complete pg.54 in their math book which is review of topics we completed in the past chapter.
For math this week we will be moving into chapter 2 which is on multiplication. Students will multiply tens, hundreds, and thousands. They will estimate products and multiply using the distributive property.
They will continue the writing process on a personal narrative. They are being introduced to new vocabulary words this week.
In reading we are continuing to read, Love That Dog, and use close reading strategies as we read it. We will practice answering more questions with text-based evidence, looking for features that make up a poem, writing the gist, and summarizing text.
In social studies, the students will be studying landforms.
Reminder that the book fair is this week. The Pirate Pizza Party/Family Night is this Thursday from 4:30 - 6:30.
