Parents,
Students have homework tonight to complete on the math lesson we did today on renaming numbers. For example, 1,400 can be written as 14 hundreds or 140 can be written as 14 tens. They are to complete pg. 35 in their math book.
This week students will be writing personal narratives. In reading, we are beginning a study on a book called, Love That Dog, by Sharon Creech. They will continue to find document based evidence in answering questions and citing their evidence with a sentence starter and their choice of quoting the text or paraphrasing.
In math we are continuing chapter 1 where students will learn about adding and subtracting whole numbers. This is a review of concepts from past grades but with larger numbers.
We are starting science this week and next learning about the scientific method.
Reminder this Friday is our Freedom Walk. You are welcome to come to school and walk around the school with your children.
