Daily Update 8/31

Hello Parents!

Thanks so much for checking in on our blog.  Here's tonight's homework:

Read 20 minutes--within the next week or so, there will be an additional component to this assignment, and students will be expected to write at least one Reader Response Blog entry per week.  At this time, however, the accounts are not quite ready for use.

Math--students have one math problem to complete in their math journal.

Have a wonderful evening!

Hi Parents!

We've had a wonderful week so far and are really enjoying getting to know your students.  This week we've been spending time on giving the required beginning of the year assessments, getting student computer accounts set up, and getting students into the 4th grade routine.  We hope your child is having a great week so far!

Today your students were given permission slips that allow them to receive services from Debbie Burns, our school's Military Family Life Counselor (MFLAC).  Please be aware that signing this slips does NOT mean that students will automatically see Ms. Burns; it just means that students MAY see Ms. Burns if the need arises.  Feel free to contact either Mrs. Thompson or Mr. Utter with any questions.

As we said in an earlier post, because we're spending so much time on assessing students, and because students don't yet have their accounts, homework will not begin until next week.  Please encourage your child to read nightly, though!  Further homework updates can be found here!

Have a wonderful evening, and don't hesitate to contact us with questions!

Parents,

We enjoyed working with your child today and are happy to see them. We are not giving any official homework until next week. However, your child can still begin reading at least 20 minutes every night. If you have any questions, please let us know. Have a great week.
